William "Bill" Deubner Obituary

William Earl “Bill” Deubner went to be with The Lord on May 29, 2021.  Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 22, 1928; the son of the late Delbert V. Deubner and Crystal Marie (Worrel) Deubner Cole. On April 17, 1954 in the Six Mile Run Church of God, Bill married Emily Laverne (Barber) Deubner.  They recently celebrated sixty-seven years of loving and helping each other.  His wife survives him at home. 

Surviving are his two sons, James C. Deubner of Defiance, Pennsylvania and John P. Deubner of Stanley, North Carolina; grandchildren Crystal L. Grundon, Erika L. Delaney, Jamie K. Deubner-Ryan, William G. Deubner, Jonathan A. Deubner and Christopher L. Deubner; great-grandchildren Crystal M. Grundon, Emily J. Grundon, Luke W. Grundon, Logan M. Delaney, Savannah Delaney, Kaylen L. Delaney, Liam P. Delaney, Avery C. Donohue, James P. Ryan, Caleb T. Ryan, Adam D. Deubner, Emily B. Deubner and William L. Deubner; siblings Melvin and Linda Deubner, Leesburg, GA; Ruth Heflin, Indianapolis, IN; Robert Nolen married to Julie, Indiana, PA; step-siblings Cecile Cole, Ronald Cole and Frederick Cole and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by a son William E. Deubner, Jr.; siblings Annabelle June Deubner, Delbert Deubner, Juliann Deubner, Sandra Deubner, Ronald Deubner and Paul Deubner; a loving step-father Raymond F. Cole and step-sister Gene Cole.

Bill served over nine and a half years in the U.S. Navy mostly on a destroyer in electronics.  Upon being honorably discharged he went to work at IBM, retiring in 1985 as a senior analyst.  After retirement Bill could be found volunteering at various places and enjoyed helping people.  

Bill loved The Lord and his family. Wherever Bill’s employment took him across the country, he found a good Christian church and church family that became a part of his life.  He became friends with two special people from Charlotte, North Carolina, Herb and Louise Thomas.  

Due to the Covid-19 Virus, all services will be held privately.  

In place of flowers, if friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bill to the Riddlesburg Church of the Brethren, P.O. Box 136, Riddlesburg, PA 16672.
