Violet M. (Reynolds) Mackel-Harris

Violet M. (Reynolds) Mackel-Harris, 86, of South Fork, PA, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020.  She was born on July 5, 1934 in Ryot, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Elwood Harvey Reynolds and Lena Eleanor (Shaffer) Reynolds-Zess. Violet was united in marriage to James R. Harris on July 5, 1993.  He preceded her in death on April 8, 2005.  

Violet is survived by her children, Trina M. Mackel, of Dunlo, PA; Howard E. Mackel Jr., married to daughter-in-law Rhonda (Brant-Monroe), South Fork, PA, and Cathy A. Nagle, married to Marshall Nagle of Saxton, PA; siblings Shirley Browne, Betty Lou Novak married to Jack, Esther Taylor, Stanford, Elwood Reynolds married to Pat, and Edward Reynolds married to Maureen; grandchildren, Amber Hanson, Staff Sgt. Gregory Mackel, Marshall Nagle Jr., Joseph Beaner, Tyler Mackel and William Nagle, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband and brothers Charles and Glenn Reynolds.

Violet was a member of the Saxton First Church of God.  She spent many years as a bus driver for the Head Start Program.

She was a formerly active in the South Fork Womens Club.  She enjoyed crocheting, attending craft shows, spending time with grandchildren and visiting with family.

Friends may call at the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA 16678 on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Akers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rodney Hatfield officiating. We ask that those in attendance would follow CDC guidelines by wearing a mask and following social distancing.

Burial will be held privately at Grandview Cemetery, Saxton, PA.
