Robin Marie Akers, age 74, passed away peacefully April 29, 2022 due to complications from COPD. She was born April 18, 1948 in Memphis, Tennessee to Robert Louis Holloway and Edna Erle Jarrett. She married her friend and love, Mahlon Edward Akers, August the 24th of 1973 in Memphis, Tennessee.
Robin loved to help people. Her hands were rarely still. Her organizing and accessorizing skills helped many others. She also shared her love for food, such as lasagna and real fried chicken with friends and family.
After high school, Robin joined the women marines reporting to Parris Island for recruit training. Her duty took to Camp Lejeune, Quantico for NCO school and to Albany Georgia supply depot where she rose to Sergeant. Upon honorable discharge, she returned to Memphis to pursue secretarial positions. Her search brought her to the prominent law firm Ferris, Hancock and Gilman as executive secretary for Mr. Ferris. Her career continued in Corpus Christi, TX and Marine Barracks Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verses of the 23rd Psalm.
Robin is survived by her husband Mahlon Akers; her brother Arthur Farris, Jr. and sister Dianne and husband Jim Landon; her son Jason and wife Laura and two grandchildren: Christopher and Bohdan and her nieces and nephews. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
