Randy L. Shaffer

Randy L. Shaffer, 76, of Crystal Spring, PA; passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 7, 2024.  He was born on January 30, 1948 in Everett, PA; a son of the late Dennis O. and Marjorie (Wilt) Shaffer.    On November 2, 1973 he was united in marriage to Marie Alma (Hoop) Shaffer.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his three daughters Stephanie Richardson (John Ebersole), Hagerstown, MD; Kathy Gregg (Robb), Petersburg, VA and Angie Anderson (Jerry), Virginia Beach, VA; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, loving dog Lucy, one brother Greg Shaffer (Betty), Breezewood, PA; one niece, one nephew and numerous cousins.

Randy was a graduate of Southern Fulton High School Class of 1965.  After graduating high school he attended Rhett Electronics School in Philadelphia. Upon announcement of draft notice he enlisted in the United States Army; he was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1967-1970.  He was a self-employed dairy farmer until the early 1990’s; following his agriculture career he worked at “The Lumber Yard”, JLG industries, Construction Company in Colorado and the Bedford Springs Golf Course.  He held numerous positions with the Breezewood V.F.W. Post No. 8333.  He served on the board of directors of REA.

He loved farming, hunting and playing golf.  He was a member of the Breezewood Wesley United Parish at McKenndree Church.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 1-4 P.M. at the Breezewood V.F.W.
