Paul Plovish, 82, passed away on January 19, 2022 surrounded by family at his home in Everett, PA. He was born on February 5, 1939 in Blough, PA. In 7th grade his mother and step-father, Pauline (Plovish) and Clair Umberger, moved the family to Everett, PA. Through high school Paul was involved in basketball and football. He played as a quarterback for the Warriors football team, but also kicked extra points becoming known to some as the “The Toe”. After high school, he married his high school sweetheart, LaDona (Fetters) in 1957.

After nearly 65 years of marriage, Paul is survived by his wife LaDona of Everett, PA. He is also survived by:  daughter Kim Luquette and husband Ken of Severna Park, MD; daughter Trisha Ellis and husband Rob of Fleming Island, FL; brother Barry Umberger and wife Mary (Covert) of Carlisle, PA; brother, Allen Umberger and wife Jane (Fellows) of North Huntingdon, PA; sister Sandi (Umberger) Sherba of Hillside, PA; grandchildren Mickey Luquette of Philadelphia, PA and Addison Ellis of Fleming Island, FL; and many loving family members and friends across the United States. Paul was predeceased by his mother and step-father Pauline and Clair Umberger.

Throughout his life, Paul and LaDona were involved in and supported many local organizations, including the Red Men, VFW, American Legion and Jaycees, and fund raising activities like the March of Dimes. They sponsored youth basketball and football teams and attended a multitude of local sports and arts events. On a given night you could find Paul and LaDona sitting with friends to cheer on the Everett Warriors to victory.

Paul worked as a Real Estate Agent and/or Broker, commencing as an agent with Strout Realty in 1974. He opened his own office in 1979 under the name of Paul Plovish Realty, listing and selling property in and around Bedford County, until his retirement in 1999. After retirement, he continued to provide brokerage services and was currently working for Bedford County Real Estate.

He attended the First Christian Church.

Paul’s daughters and grandchildren have the utmost respect for his work ethic, his ability to overcome obstacles, and his compassion to family and friends.

One of Paul’s greatest joys was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved antique cars and spending time at his farm near Mattie, PA, where he often could be found sitting upon a tractor. He was able to make and keep so many wonderful friends throughout his life and they offered him peace in his final days. He appreciated the love and support provided by his family.  In turn, the family is thankful for the support provided by others over the past two years.
