Opal I. (Golden) Morse

Opal I. Morse, 82, of Menchtown Road, Everett, PA; passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Fulton County Medical Center.  She was born on January 21, 1938 in Fulton County; a daughter of the late Jerry and Ida (Gordon) Golden.  On March 26, 1961 in Cumberland, MD she was united in marriage to Dallmeyer Morse.  He preceded her in death on May 21, 2019.   

She is survived by three children Jeffrey L. Morse and partner James Knarr, Brian K. Morse and Michelle L. Morse, all of Everett; three sisters Barbara Young, Breezewood, Rachel Snyder, Hancock and Florence Ruppenthal, Needmore and one brother Richard Golden, Warfordsburg; many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. 

She was preceded in death by parents, husband and siblings Margaret Mellott, Mary Gray, George Golden, Sylvester Golden, Edith Shaw, Nancy McCarty, Gerald Golden and Robert Golden. 

Opal was a lifetime member of New Light Ministries in Breezewood, where she previously served as Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader and a board member.  She was active in the Breezewood Trucker Traveler’s Ministries, Relay for Life of Bedford County for over twenty-five years, holding many leadership positions. 

Throughout the years she was employed at Sagner and Lions factories, Howard Johnsons and retired from the All American Truck Stop.  After retirement she started Rainbow Acres Concessions, traveling to many local fairs and festivals. 

She loved gospel and bluegrass music and just being around others. 

Friends and family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 9:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M.  We ask that those in attendance would follow CDC guidelines by wearing a mask and following social distancing.

A Graveside Service will immediately follow at Rock Hill Cemetery with Pastor Delmas Bard officiating.
