Nancy I. (Smith) Calhoun

Nancy I. Calhoun, 77, of Hollars Extension, Everett, PA; went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Friday, February 12, 2021 at home.  She was born on August 14, 1943 in Everett, PA; a daughter of the late John W. and June E. (Imler) Smith.  On August 4, 1962 she was united in marriage to her husband James S. Calhoun.  

Along with her husband of fifty-eight years, she is survived by two sons Craig Calhoun married to Angie (Hedrick), Prairieville, LA and Rev. Michael Calhoun married to Clorinda (Lancaster), Cumberland, MD; eight grandchildren Matthew (Kathleen), Shante (Levi), Micah (Courtney), Cody (Janae), Bryna (Bobby), Joshua (Sierra), Aidyn and Ruthie; eleven great grandchildren and a sister Shirley married to Blair Clark, Chambersburg, PA.

She was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1961, where she was voted best singer her senior year and went to state chorus.

Nancy was a member of the Everett Grace Brethren Church, where she was part of an Easter Sunday service in 1952, one of the first services at the church and at eight years old, gave her life to Jesus.  She has remained active at the church over the years as a Sunday School Teacher, Youth leader alongside her husband, women and girls ministry, sang in the choir, adult soloist, and decorated the church for all seasons.

Over the years she was employed at the sewing factory, H-P Store, Family House Restaurant and manager at Best Western for twenty nine years until her retirement in 2008.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Everett Grace Brethren Church with Pastor Melvin Van Orman officiating and Reverend Craig Manges assisting.  

Friends and Family may call at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

Burial will be held privately at Bedford County Memorial Park.
