Mark Spade Obituary

Mark F. Spade, 76, of Everett, PA; went home to the Lord on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  He was born on September 22, 1946 in Everett, PA, son of the late Robert M. and Retha E. (Duvall) Spade.  He was united in marriage to Karen K. (Clark) Spade at the First Christian Church by the Rev. Paul Gettinger.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughter Christine Spade, Everett, PA and son Darren Spade (Alexis), Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren Grant, Grace and Gage Spade; sister Sylvia Haselbarth (Sheldon); sister-in-law Suzanne Wakefield (George), brother-in-law Jeffrey Clark (Sherry), and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a sister Carol Musick.

Mark was a graduate of Southern Fulton High School Class of 1964. He worked as a computer analyst for Ford Motor Company in northern Virginia for thirty-two years until retirement.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, Everett, where over the years he served as a Trustee and also served on church council.  He volunteered at the Everett Food Pantry, Love INC, and served as secretary for the McKendree Cemetery Association. While living in Virginia he was active in church lay ministry, the Emmaus community, and the Kairos Prison Ministry.

Mark was a strong Christian and a country boy at heart. He was kind, quiet, calm, quick to chuckle and had a handshake of steel. He was a loving Granddad to his three grandchildren and treasured the time he had with them. Mark also enjoyed cars, hunting, fishing, and caring for his family farm in Crystal Spring.
