Loran D. "Dane" Clark

Loran D. “Dane” Clark, 85, of Everett, Pa. passed away on Thursday September 14, 2023 at The Village of Martinsburg.  Dane was born on December 9, 1937 in Ashcom, Pa. the son of Samuel D. and Edna K. (Miller) Clark.  On January 7, 1961 he married Joan Mills.

Along with his wife of sixty-two years, he is survived by children Vivian (Jeff) Koontz; their sons Michael Koontz and Matthew Koontz and fiancée Kristen Roberts; Gwen Clark her sons Ian (Daniela) Muir and Elias (Haley) Muir;  Perry (Paula Garlock) Clark their daughters Pamela and Paige Clark; five great grandchildren; brothers Max (Nancy) Clark; Lee (Patty) Clark; Alfred Clark; Gary (Bonnie) Clark; sister-in-law Adra (Ronald) Clark and many nieces and nephews.

Dane was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters-in-law: James and Pauline Clark; William and Ruth Clark; Ronald Clark; a sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Orval Butcher.

Dane was a very active member of the Pleasant Union Church, where had been a Sunday School teacher and helped where needed.

He graduated from Bedford High School Class of 1956.   He then went on to serve in the United States Army.   Dane was employed as a welder for New Enterprise Stone and Lime at Ashcom plant for many years until retirement.

Dane loved being outdoors and his great joy was to share that love with his grandchildren, whether fishing, hunting, or playing in the dirt.  His greatest joy was gardening.

The funeral will be held at the Pleasant Union Church on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastors Gary Koontz and Lyle Mellott officiating.  

Friends and family will be received at the church on Monday from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service.
Interment to follow in Pleasant Union Cemetery.
