H. Lee Ritchey Obituary

Pastor H. Lee Ritchey, 90, of Plank Road, Everett, PA; went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at his home.  He was born on November 14, 1931; a son of the late Scott Henry and Lena (McFarland) Ritchey; he was the sixth of twelve children. He grew up in the Everett Area and graduated from the Robert P. Smith High School.  He was united in marriage to Jeannetta Helen (Blackstone) Ritchey on December 13, 1951, she preceded him in death on March 26, 1991.  He later married Clara Ann (Leedom) Ritchey on July 24, 1993; she passed away on January 17, 2021. 

After high school he went on to serve in the Merchant Marines on The Great Lakes.

On August 25, 1951 at a tent meeting on Spring Street in Everett, he received the Lord.

Over the years he served as pastor at the Woodbury Brethren in Christ, Blandburg Brethren in Christ, Mountain Chapel Brethren in Christ, Community Bible Church, and Bethel Church of the Brethren during a lifetime of ministry. 

He was a bi-vocational minister; he drove truck, was a mechanic, drilled wells and worked in construction. 

He was preceded in death by a daughter Carole Jean Miller; brothers Scott Henry, Clair, William; sisters Helen, Lois, Ina, Esther, Linda and Alice.  He is survived by sons Dennis Ritchey married to Joanna, Scott Ritchey married to Ruth and David Ritchey; brothers John and James; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the church.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mt. Chapel Brethren in Christ Church with Pastor Ron Hott and Pastor William Swope officiating.

Burial will be held at Mt. Chapel Cemetery.
