August 15, 1936 ~ September 7, 2021 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Elva Cottle Obituary

Elva Ruth (Miller) Cottle, 85, of Raystown Road, Everett, PA; passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born in Saxton, PA; a daughter of the late Ralph and Martha (Brumbaugh) Miller.  On March 15, 1958 she was united in marriage to Joseph P. “Joe Pete” Cottle.  He preceded her in death on March 31, 2015 concluding a marriage of fifty seven years.

She is survived by two children Thomas F. Cottle married to Donna (Pletcher), Somerset and Amy Jo married to Brian Koontz, Everett; grandchildren Steven Cottle married to Mandi (Replogle), Andrew Koontz, Olivia married to Kevin Claycomb, step granddaughter Kelly married to Dr. David Hajel and Bracken married to Danielle; great grandchildren Riley, Logan, Braden, Jackson, Emelia Ruthie Grace, Jameson, Halle, Deklan and Cora; a sister Pheobe Imler and sister-in-law Harriet Miller. 

She was loved and adored by many nieces and nephews.

Elva was preceded in death by siblings Joe B. Miller, Ned Miller, Betty Cottle, Dorcas Worthing, Mary Wright and Daniel Miller.

She worked at the Lions Manufacturing then later retiring from Pennknoll Village after eighteen years. 

Elva was a member of the Community Grace Brethren Church where she and her good friend Nellie Howsare started a monthly women’s prayer breakfast.  She also had a love for her longtime friends at Bethel Church of the Brethren. 

She had a zest for life and a passion for caring for others.  You would frequently see her on the go, she loved shopping, visiting her family, friends and neighbors.  She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her favorites were riding around with Riley, watching Logan, Braden and Jackson play ball, having tea parties with Emelia Ruthie and babysitting Jameson.

Aunt Elva as she was known to many loved making hooded baby towels for new babies.  She had a special love for her nieces Susan, Sandy and nephew Sam.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at the Community Grace Brethren Church with Pastor Jeff Peeler and Pastor Craig Manges officiating. 

Family and Friends will be received at the Community Grace Brethren Church, 1216 Raystown Road, Everett on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the church.

Burial will be held at Bethel Cemetery.
