Doris F. (Fluke) Conley

Doris F. Conley, 90, of Stone Row Road, Hopewell, PA; passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020.  She was born on November 12, 1929 in Langdondale, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late Carl W. and Dora A. (Stevens) Fluke.  On June 14, 1946 in New Jersey, she was united in marriage to Luke L. Conley.  He preceded her in death on November 14, 1992.  She is survived by daughters Carolyn Conley married to Dennis Feight and Dora J. “Jeanie” Conley married to J. Edward Baker both of Hopewell; son-in-law J. Edward Melius, Hopewell, PA; sister-in-law Linda Holmes Fluke, Walkersville, MD; six grandchildren Yvonne Feight, Stacy Snare, Tonya Serrato, Douglas Baker, April Deem and Luke Melius; eleven great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by daughter G. Suzanne (Conley) Melius in 2004; great granddaughter Samantha L. Snare in 2012 and sisters Leola Crickmore, Varian Black, Lorene Leighty, Faithe Tezak and brothers Veryl W. Fluke, David K. Fluke and George P. Fluke.

Doris was a member of the Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren; she loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church activities.

She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, working crossword puzzles, feeding and watching the birds.  Doris loved being with family and her dog “Emmy”.

She worked in food service at the Gateway Restaurant as an assistant manager for twenty one years.  She later worked at the Hopewell Senior Center.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Akers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Richard Stoey officiating.

Friends may call at Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA, on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 6-8 P.M. and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral chapel.

Burial will be held at Langdondale Cemetery.
