Delora H. (Hennessey) Ross

Delora H. Ross, 97, of Saxton, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 at The Village at Morrisons Cove, Martinsburg.  She was born on November 16, 1923 in Broad Top, PA; a daughter of the late Portor and Faye (Black) Hennessey.  She was united in marriage to Kelly C. Ross, he preceded her in death in April of 1991.

She is survived by children Danny L. Ross married to Rosella (Baker), Hesston, PA; Deborah K. Roman, Saxton and Alan M. Ross married to Tina (Thompson), Saxton; siblings Jack Hennessey married to Naomi; Nelda Shephard and Joyce Snyder; grandchildren Dana Shook, Sherrie Glenny, Traci Wilson, Jessica Young and Kayla Wyles; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

She was preceded in death by a grandson Brandon Roman; son-in-law Randy Roman; siblings Clement Hennessey, Dorothea Black, Vera Cupp, Vaughn Hennessey, Don Hennessey and Lee Hennessey.

Delora attended the Church of God Tabernacle.

Over the years she worked at Quality Manufacturing as a seamstress and also at Hennessy’s Market as a sales clerk.

She enjoyed going to the Broad Top Area Senior Center where she liked to play bingo and participate in the center’s choir.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Akers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mary Garvey officiating.

Friends may call at Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA, on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service at the funeral chapel.

Burial will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
