David Kepple Obituary

David R Kepple of Hopewell Township went into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 21, 2020 at Bedford Hospital.  He was 73 yrs. old, and the loving  husband of Hannah L  Kepple for 46 years.

Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Robert K Kepple and Mildred Benshoff  Kepple.  He was preceded in death by sister Nancy L Kepple and brothers James K Kepple and Terry L Kepple.

Dave was a graduate of Johnstown High School’s Class of 1965. He served our country in the US Army Reserve.  Prior to retirement, Dave worked for Bethlehem Steel, Gautier Division, 12 inch mill in Johnstown for 33 years.

Dave enjoyed everything about the outdoors including traveling, hunting and lying on a raft in “his” beloved Juniata River.  A story teller extraordinaire, Dave always had a kind word, was the life of the party, and enjoyed making people laugh.  He loved reading the Bible and watching western movies.

He has faithfully served his Church throughout his life, and was an active member of St. Paul's Church of Yellow Creek where he served beside his wife in several leadership roles.

Dave will always be remembered for his “Rocky Balboa” voice, helping those in need and loving his family unconditionally.   He is survived by his sons John of Hopewell, Paul (Marygrace) of Hummelstown, Donald of Johnstown, and daughter Lynnae Herdman (Frank) of Hollidaysburg; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great- grandchildren with an additional 2 on the way.   Also many loved nephews, nieces, friends and their families.

A graveside service will be held at Diehl’s Crossroads Cemetery, Curryville at 2:30 P.M on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.
