Charlotte Hartle Obituary

On July 8, 2021 Charlotte Hartle, 88, entered Heaven due to complications following a stroke.  She was born on July 16, 1932 in West Newton, PA; the daughter of the late Charles W. and Mary (Povirk) Bergman. She was united in marriage to Dr John E. Hartle on June 1, 1953 in West Newton, PA.  They relocated to Everett and were happily married for 40 years.  She was preceded death by John in 1994 and by her half-brother Charles E. Bergman.

Charlotte is survived by her two sons Richard and Mark, and three daughters, Lisa Hartle, Amy Stabnau, and Rebecca Hartle. She is also survived by three grandsons, Andrew, Alex, and Jonathan and three granddaughters, Laura, Elizabeth, and Anne and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hartle was an active member of Everett United Methodist Church for 60 years, where she sang in the choir, helped prepare dinners, and made many friends.

Charlotte graduated from Dunbar High School with the class of 1949, where she was known to be “small, but mighty.”  She then entered Presbyterian School of Nursing in Pittsburgh.  She worked for a time in her husband’s medical practice in Everett.  She was a loving wife and mother.

Sports were a passion for Charlotte, who rooted mightily for Pittsburgh Panthers, Steelers, Pirates and Penguins, and Everett High School teams.  She was a wonderful seamstress, and her quilts were renowned for their quality hand stitching.  Charlotte enjoyed many family vacations to the beach at Stone Harbor, NJ.  She would cook favorite foods for family when they visited.

Charlotte spent most of her last 23 months under the care of the wonderful staff at New Hope Gracious Personal Care in Pittsburgh.
