Charles D. McConnell, 54, August 7 1969 – September 15 2023

Only child of Richard and Barbara McConnell, Everett passed away on September 15, 2023 at Conemaugh Hospital following a series of pulmonary complications. Charles resided with his extended family at the Ebensburg State Center after 22 years of home care. He was a student of IU8 for intellectually challenged individuals and had attended programs in Altoona, Portage and Everett. Charlie was fond of dachshunds, Irish folk music and the company of others.

Charlie was preceded in death by his grandparents and 8 aunts and uncles. He is survived by his parents, 6 aunts and uncles and countless cousins and especially the entire loving, caring staff of the Ebensburg Center. Special in his life were his “other parents” John and Sandy Herman of New Paris and his never forgetting friends Lynn and Cathy Plesnic of Everett.

At a later date, a memorial service will be held at his home at the Ebensburg Center.
