Audrey M. (Layton) Morral

Audrey Morral, 86, formerly of Everett, PA; went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at her home in Mifflintown, PA; surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 28, 1935 in Everett, PA; a daughter of the late Dale and Mabel (Hockenberry) Layton. She was united in marriage to Roy Morral on April 5, 1956 in Winchester, Virginia. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2009.

She is survived by her daughter Patsy Strawser and fiancée Bob First of Mifflintown and her son Randy Morral married to Michele (Pepple) of Smithsburg, MD and a son in law Daniel Layton of Clearville; six grandchildren Andrew Layton, Andrea Mallow, Arika Miller, Jerret Strawser, Kortney Howerton and Kameron Morral; eight great-grandchildren; a brother Gary Layton married to Anna Marie of Everett and a brother-in-law Eugene Morral.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Diane Layton, her brother Dale Layton and a sister Betty Akers.

Audrey was a member of the Everett United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Everett Area High School.

She recently lived in Mifflintown, PA; but spent most of her life in the Breezewood and Everett area.

She and her husband Roy started Morral’s Motel and Restaurants in Breezewood, PA which included The Family House Restaurants in Breezewood and Mifflintown, PA; Hardees in Breezewood and the Best Western Plaza Motor Lodge in Breezewood. Together they ran these businesses for over forty years.

She enjoyed racing which she and her husband were involved in for many years; shopping and going out to eat. She also enjoyed time spent with her family and trips to the beach and Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  Audrey was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.

A private funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Rev. Milton Morris officiating.

Burial will be held at the Everett Cemetery.
