Arlen P. Showalter, 89, of North Milk and Water Road, Everett, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at home with his wife by his side ending a union of sixty-eight years.
He was born on June 27, 1932 in Everett, PA; a son of the late Earl and Mary (Snow) Showalter. On November 15, 1952 at Everett Church of the Brethren he married Edna M. (Wallace) Showalter.
Along with his wife he is survived by children Arlen C. Showalter married to Patty L. (Calhoun); Susan D. married to Clyde R. Snyder; Sharon A. married to Martin M. Bakner and Aric A. Showalter married to Krista L. (Hurley), all of Everett; grandchildren Shannon Showalter, Tracey Snyder, Corey Snyder, Stephanie Allen, Timothy Bakner, MaKinzie Showalter, Kassidy Showalter; eleven great grandchildren; and a sister Gertrude Claycomb.
He was preceded in death by siblings Grace Duvall, William Showalter, Stella Page, Warren Showalter, Garnett Waite, David Showalter, and Dewey Showalter.
Arlen was a member of the Everett Church of the Brethren and a past member of the Everett Masonic Lodge F. & A.M. No. 524.
He was a bricklayer and mason, having been a member of the BAC Local Union No. 09 for seventy years. He worked for various contractors throughout his career.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and trapping. Arlen cherished family vacations to Rehoboth Beach.
Funeral service will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
A Celebration of life service will be held at a later date at the Everett Church of the Brethren.
Burial will be held at the Everett Cemetery.
