Wayne Baughman, 90, of Ritchey Road, Everett, Pennsylvania; passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Colonial Courtyard. He was born on December 31, 1927 in Everett, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Francis and Zelma (Sprowl) Baughman. On January 28, 1956 he was united in marriage to Joann (Feight) Baughman; she preceded him death on March 10, 2015. He is survived by a son, Barry W. Baughman, Everett; daughter Tracy B. married to Lee Lowery, Everett; two grandsons; two great granddaughters; sisters Vesta Foor wife of the late Albert K. Foor, Jr., Joyce Diehl married to Guy; and brother Ronald Baughman married to Delores.
Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter Lori Tepke, sisters Velva Clark, Hyacinth Mozden, Sara Foor, Yvonne Cornell, Donna Clark and Dorothy “Patty” Robinette, brothers Junior, Sandy, Rex and Dallas.
He served as a Private First Class in the United States Army from 1945-1947 being a member of the 4025th Signal Service Group stationed in Manila. Wayne was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot for many years until his retirement 1975.
He was a member of Everett Church of the Brethren, where he served on several committees, he also served as a chair of the Building Committee for the 1981 edition and as a head usher.
Wayne helped establish the Civil Air Patrol in Bedford County, the Senior Citizens Center in Everett, and the Everett Area Community Housing Program in Everett. He served as Judge of Elections for West Providence Township for several years and was also a Bedford County Republican Committeeman.
Wayne was a member of Everett Masonic Lodge F.&A.M. No. 524 for over sixty years.
He enjoyed gardening in the spring and summer, taking great pride in his lawn and roses. For many years he plowed snow for customers in Everett and Breezewood. He was an avid deer and turkey hunter and enjoyed reading.
Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Inc., Everett on Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 4-7 P.M. and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the church. Everett Masonic Lodge will conduct services at 6:30 P.M.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Everett Church of the Brethren with Pastor Mike Benner officiating.
Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Everett Church of the Brethren in memory of Wayne.
