Thomas G. Waltman

Thomas G. Waltman, 54, of West Main Street, Everett, PA; passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 in Pittsburgh, PA.  He was born on November 26, 1963 in Everett, PA; a son of Patricia Ann (Trella) Waltman of Everett and the late William H. Waltman.  On June 3, 1989 in St. Thomas Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Sharon (Felton) Waltman.

Along with his wife and mother he is survived by children Cory Waltman, Everett, PA and Erica Waltman of Everett and her fiancé Cory Furry; siblings Linda married to William Wigfield, Everett, PA , William married to Denise (Lemley), Everett, PA, Paula married to Kenny Clingerman, Everett, PA and Patty married to Mike Tokarczyk, Everett, PA; father and mother-in-law Robert and Shirley Felton; numerous nieces and nephews and dog “Tabby”.

Mr. Waltman was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1982. Upon graduation he attended Frostburg University and earned his Master’s Degree in Health and Physical Education.

He taught for the Everett Area School District from 1990 to current, having taught Jr./Sr. High Physical Education. He previously served as an Assistant Athletic Director and coached at all levels.  Tom could always be found supporting his students, players and all athletes even when he wasn't coaching. A friend to everyone.

Tom was part of the founding team that started Everett Area Youth Football League, member of the Everett Lions Club, holding President for the past three consecutive terms; Everett Area Education Association and PSEA member; member of negotiating team. 

Tom was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Everett.  He enjoyed biking, coaching, attending sports events, baking, golfing and being around people.

Friends and Family will be received on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc. from 11AM-2PM and 4PM-8PM.  Everett Lions Club will conduct services at 2:00 PM. 

Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Derek Fairman officiating.   Burial will be held privately at Everett Cemetery.
