Stanford L. Wentz, 69, of Northgate Park Road, Everett; passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 7, 1949 in Alum Bank, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Sewell and Goldie (Mock) Wentz. On October 7, 1970 in Hagerstown, MD; he was united in marriage to Charlotte V. (Morris) Wentz. She survives him along with siblings Rosie Drenning married to Cloyd, Alum Bank, PA; Edward Wentz, Bedford, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by siblings Gerald Wentz, Kirby Wentz, Homer Wentz, Victor Wentz, infant Donald Wentz, Shirley Drenning and sister-in-law Diane Wentz.
Stanford served in the United States Army from 1968-1970 during the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a welder for Rockland Manufacturing for thirty-six years until his retirement in 2012.
He was a member of the Everett American Legion Post No. 8 and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Family and Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 6-8 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Benner officiating
Burial will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park with full military honors conducted by the Everett Area Honor Guard.
If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Wentz to the Everett American Legion.
