Ruthanna Roberts, 73, of North Ridge Avenue, Everett, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 20, 2018 at her home. She was born on July 14, 1945 in Roaring Spring, PA: the daughter of the late John W. and E. Frances (Blough) Kagarise. On August 31, 1967 in the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren, she was united in marriage to Floyd W. Roberts.
Along with her husband of fifty years she is survived by son Jeffrey A. Roberts married to Wendy (Waitkus), Hayward, CA; daughter Brenda S. Bloom, Everett, PA; two grandchildren Wayne M. Bloom and Katelyn M. Notestine; sister Eileen married to Robert “Bud” Claycomb, New Enterprise, PA; Dwight Kagarise married to Jeannie, Bedford, PA and sister-in-law Arlene Kagarise, New Enterprise, PA.
She was preceded in death by a brother Orlo Kagarise and sister Lois Fletcher and her husband John.
Ruthanna was a lifelong member of Bell Seventh Day Baptist Church, Salemville, PA. She was dedicated to the functions of the church, especially the children’s ministries.
She was a registered nurse at the Bedford Hospital for several years prior to starting her own day care center for over thirty years. She could often be seen walking with her little ones in Everett.
Mrs. Roberts was a graduate of Northern Bedford County High School Class of 1963 and attended Altoona Hospital School of Nursing for her RN Certification.
She taught child birth courses at Bedford Hospital for several years; volunteered at the Everett Free Library for story time and was a member of the Everett Happy Senior Center.
Friends may call at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 4-8 P.M. and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the church.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bell Seventh Day Baptist Church, 1411 Salemville Road, New Enterprise, PA 16664 with Rev. Darwin Steele and Rev. Andrew Camenga Officiating.
Burial will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Bennett Cemetery, Artemas, PA.
