Ruth E. (Bennett) Mallow

Ruth E. Mallow, 91, of Bedford formerly of Clearville passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at her daughter’s home.

She was born in Riverton, WV; on October 7, 1928, the daughter of the late Green and Rella (Nelson) Bennett.  She was the last surviving member of both her family and her husband’s seven siblings and spouses.

She was married to Charles H. Mallow on October 19, 1946 in Franklin, WV.  He preceded her in death on August 14, 1987.

Ruth is survived by two children: Charles Mallow Jr. (Carol), Clearville and Freda Kagarise, Bedford.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren Daniel and Andrew Kagarise, Justin (Becky), Jeremy (Angie), Angie (Quirino), Audrey (Ryan), Josalynn (Dave) and Jolene, twelve great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren Dalton (Casey), Bryce, Cayden, Morgan, Annastasia, Zach, Camden, Whelynn, Wyat, Kenny, Allie, Nicholas, Carlos, Owen, Lucus, Elana, Isaac, Adrianna and two great great grandchildren Mason and Gabriella.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelia J. Mallow, son-in-law David E. Kagarise, brother John D. Bennett and in-laws Jason and Dellie (Phares) Mallow.

Ruth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Clearville, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for several years.  She and her husband were self-employed dairy farmers.

Ruth enjoyed gardening, crocheting and going for rides in the spring when the red buds bloomed. 

Friends and Family will be received on Monday, November 4, 2019 from 4-8 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Short officiating.

Burial will be held at Clearville Union Cemetery.
