Robert I. “Bob” Stiffler, 87 of Whistletop Road, Everett, PA; went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on August 18, 1932 in Lutzville, PA; a son of the late Harry Isaac and Elsie Ellen (Clark) Stiffler.
Bob was a MP in the United States Army while stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He retired in 1995 as a plant operator after thirty-eight years at New Enterprise Stone and Lime in Ashcom. He was a member of Clear Creek Brethren in Christ Church. Bob had a green thumb for gardening and would graciously share the fruits of his labor. He would also lend a hand to anyone in need of help. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and was devoted to walking his dog Buddy every day.
Bob was a loving father of Susan Miller wife of Randy of Everett, PA; Sharon Stiffler, Everett, PA and Ruth Bowman wife of Roger of Breezewood, PA; grandchildren Robbie (Chrissy) Blackstone, Angie (Ricky) Zimmerman, Christy (Russ) Augustine, Matthew (Jenna) Miller, Randy (Johanna) Miller, Tristan Bowman, and great-grandsons Bentley and Ian Zimmerman; sister Betty Stevenson and brothers John and Harry Jr..
He was preceded in death by sisters Doris Tenley, Katherine Bulger, Mary Petras and brothers Bernard and Floyd and an infant grandson Miller.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Rev. John Geyer officiating.
Family and Friends will be received at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
Burial will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
