Robert Edward Burt, 83, Robbie Avenue, Bedford; passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Donahoe Manor in Bedford. He was born on March 6, 1935 in Duluth, Minnesota; a son of the late Alva H. and Alice (Hangaard) Burt. On September 1, 1962 he was united in marriage to the former Bonnie L. (Booth) Burt.
Along with his wife of fifty-six years he is survived by children Karen Ritchey married to Shawn, Everett, PA and David H. Burt married to Cheryl (Ebersole), Fredericksburg, PA; grandchildren Rachelle (Ritchey) married to Darin Reasy, Sarah Ritchey, Michael Burt, Matthew Burt, Jessica, Melissa and Juliette Ritchey and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Beverly Manau, Marlene DeVore and Joan Henry.
He attended University of Minnesota where he graduated from with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism. He also went to seminary for one year in Deerfield, Illinois. Mr. Burt served in the United States Army from 1958-1959.
Mr. Burt worked as a news reporter for Evanston Review in Illinois and an independent educational sales representative for over thirty years. Robert was a member of the Community Grace Brethren Church, Everett and enjoyed reading.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Community Grace Brethren Church, 1216 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537, with Pastor Jeff Peeler officiating.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the Community Grace Brethren Church.
Burial will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park with full military honors conducted by the Everett Area Honor Guard.
