Nancy Edith (Lundquist) Swope

Nancy Edith Swope, 81, of Smith Lane, Loysburg, PA; passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.   She was born on March 26, 1934 in Hershey, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late J. David and Hilda Mae (Barker) Lundquist.

She was married to Michael Koplets and Gregory Crawford both who preceded her in death.  On April 10, 2008 she married Rufus R. Swope who survives her with the following family.

Daughter: Anita Dawn married to William H. Ritchey, Saxton, PA.

Step-daughter:  Davina married to Scott Wieczorek, Defiance, PA

Step-son:  John Mark Swope married to Stephanie, Windale, NC

Four Grandchildren:

Jennifer Miller, Rachel Barber, Amy Cessna and Ashley Ritchey

Six Great Grandchildren

Two Great Great Grandchildren

Sister: Hilda Lorraine Savage, Hershey, PA.

She was preceded in death by the following siblings: infant brother Lawrence Lundquist, Art Lundquist, Bob Lundquist, Jim Lundquist, Donald Lundquist, Ralph Lundquist, Vera Binner, Louise Parsons, Iris Mellott and Betty Mellott. 

Mrs. Swope was a member of the Six Mile Run Church of God where she sang in the choir. 

Nancy was a cook at Happy Hollow restaurant for ten years and previously  worked at the Playhouse Theater and the Saxton Elementary School.

She enjoyed cooking and taking pictures.

Friends and Family will be received at the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 6-8 P.M. and Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. 

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Akers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Richard Bair and Pastor Hubert Cagle officiating.

Burial will be held at Evans Cemetery.
