Nancy (Bowser) Batzel, 81, of Raystown Road, Everett, PA; passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020. She was born on March 2, 1938 in Everett at the Sipes Hospital. She was the daughter of the late S. Clyde and Kathryn (Rinard) Bowser and granddaughter of the late George F. and Elvina (Weaverling) Rinard. In 1957 she was united in marriage with the love of her life Fred A. Batzel at the Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. David Bomboy.
Along with her husband of sixty-two years she is survived by son Mark Batzel, Florida, daughter Lori Troutman married to DJ and grandson Drake Troutman. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, however she was blessed to have married into a loving family in which she shared brothers and sisters and a special niece, Connie Cragan.
She was a member of the Everett High School Class of 1956, which was the first class to graduate from the new school.
She was a former member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Everett where she played the pipe organ starting in 1953. She was a member of the choir, taught Sunday school and a part of the Altar Guild. She was a current member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Bedford.
Nancy was a member of the Jr. Women’s Club. She had previously worked at the former First National Bank of Everett, until starting her career at Dr. Robin Torres, MD and Dr. Flora Torres, MD medical practice until her retirement.
During her life, she and her husband enjoyed attending Penn State Football for many years, spending time at the beach, and traveling with friends. She loved attending her grandson Drake’s sporting events, and never missing a night at the dirt track watching Drake and son-in-law DJ racing.
She was a loving wife, mother, and most of all a friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. and on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Rev. David Wright officiating.
Burial will be held at the Everett Cemetery.
