Maxine D. Wakefoose

Maxine D. Wakefoose, 85, of Everett formerly of Bedford, PA; passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 2, 2018.  She was born on November 4, 1932; a daughter of the late Cecil D. and Edna B. (Snyder) Ward.  On October 10, 1953 she was united in marriage to J. Donald Wakefoose at the Zion Lutheran Church, Everett by the Rev. John Ickes.  He preceded her in death on February 6, 2006.

She is survived by numerous cousins and four furry friends Cocoa, Molly, Bella and Oakley.

Maxine was a member of the Everett Church of God, where she enjoyed spending time with church family. 

She was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1951 and was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees and also the Bedford County Chapter of School Retirees, AARP and was listed as one of One Hundred Outstanding Individuals in October 1999. 

Mrs. Wakefoose worked as a secretary for the Everett Area School District for forty-two years until her retirement on August 27, 1993.  She was named Secretary of the Year in 1976.

A Graveside Service will be held at the Everett Cemetery on October 6, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor William Kisner officiating.
