Kenneth "Ken" Leroy Drenning, of Waukesha, died peacefully, Friday, April 12, 2019, at the age of 76 years. He was born on Nov. 1, 1942, the son of R. Fred and Madaline (Sheeder) Drenning in Wood.
Ken was raised in Six Mile Run. After high school he worked in the coal mines with his dad.
The family moved to Wisconsin in 1964 where the family was raised. He worked as a machinist at Wisconsin Centrifigal (now Metal Tek) for over 33 years and retired in 1997. Ken had a love for baseball and it was said "baseball was in his blood.” He played for Land O' Lakes Baseball, Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker and other Waukesha teams. Ken also was an umpire for the Waukesha Park and Rec Dept. He enjoyed time with his co-workers and spent time with them playing Sheepshead, Eucre, bowling and deep love for deer hunting.
Ken will be deeply missed by his children: Lori D. (Richard P.) Whitstone of Waukesha, Wis.; Keith S. of Olive Branch, Miss.; Robin L., (Atty. Timothy J.) Andringa, of Waukesha, Wis.; Kevin A. of Germantown, Tenn.; and Lisa A. (W. Mark) Welch, of Eads, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brothers: Dennis (Janet), Douglas (Elizabeth) and Alan (Rosie); his sisters: Audrey Swope, Diana (Jack) Decker, Ruth Ann (David) Bailey, Cathy (Tim) Imler and Rebecca (Bill) Rogers; his sister-in-law; and his best friend since 1963 Peter Mehling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Todd Samuel; and brother, John Wesley.
Private services for Ken have been held in Saxton. Burial was at Duvall Cemetery in Six Mile Run.
