Karen L. Deremer

Karen L. Deremer, 64, of Tyrone formerly of Breezewood, PA; passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Epworth Manor, Tyrone, PA.  She was born on August 21, 1953 in Everett, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late Allen and Anita (Barr) Cooper.  On December 8, 1972 she was united in marriage to James F. Deremer, he preceded her in death on October 22, 2007.

She is survived by two children Tracy Deremer, Altoona, PA and Chad Deremer married to Bridget (Morrow) Thurmont, MD; grandchildren Luke, Paizlee, Cali and Ryan; siblings Donna, Sandra, David and Allen Jr; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by two sisters Susan and Sharon.

She was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1972.  Karen worked at the 76 Truck Stop Restaurant and Gateway Travel Plaza in Breezewood before working as rural mail carrier for the Everett Post Office until her retirement.

Karen enjoyed line dancing and taught classes at the 4H Building and PNA for several years.

Family and Friends may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 6-8 P.M.

Funeral Service will be held privately with burial following at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
