Jack S. Barney, 94, of Shady Maple Lane, Everett, PA; passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Donahoe Manor, Bedford. He was born on March 8, 1924 in Everett, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Harry Earl and Mary Jane (Stayer) Barney. On July 29, 1949 in Cumberland, Maryland; he was united in marriage to Jean I. (Barnett) Barney.
Along with his wife of sixty-nine years he is survived by two children Jill A. Barney, Springfield, VA and Jere W. Barney, Everett, PA and a brother Roger Barney married to Sandra, Everett, PA.
He was preceded in death by Kenneth Barney, Lee Barney and Bernice Ritchey.
Jack was a member of the Black Valley Federated Church, Everett.
He was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1946 and served in the United States Army during World War II from February 7, 1946 - July 23, 1947 as a S/SGT. He went on to work his career as plant manger of Central Chemical Corp until his retirement.
Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the church.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Black Valley Federated Church with Pastor Randy Parish officiating. Everett Area Honor Guard will conduct services at the church.
Burial will be held privately at Frame Church Cemetery.
