Helen L. Manges

Helen L. Manges, 86, of Tatesville Road, Everett, Pennsylvania; passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  She was born on December 20, 1931 in Hopewell Township, PA; a daughter of the late Frank and Grace (Turner) Cottle.  On January 27, 1951 in Winchester, VA; she married Robert “Pete” Dwight Manges.  He preceded her in death on August 31, 2012 after sixty-one years of marriage.

She is survived by two sons Duane W. Manges married to Paula (Koontz), Everett, PA and Craig D. Manges married to Denise (Baker), New Enterprise, PA; four grandchildren Heather Weiss married to Tim, Travis Manges, Troy Potts married to Sondra and Trenton Potts married to Leslie; six great grandchildren Andrew Weiss, Jeremy Weiss, Alexis Manges, Michael Potts, Mason Potts and Cali Rae Potts; sisters-in-law Elva Cottle and Gloria Cottle.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by siblings Frank Cottle, Jr., Jay Cottle, Charles Cottle, Edna Burkett, Mary Foor and Joseph P. Cottle.

Helen was a member of the Community Grace Brethren Church.  She enjoyed needle point work, word searches and loved flowers.  She recently enjoyed going to Pennknoll Village with her granddaughter to visit and sing with the residents.

Mrs. Manges worked at Lion Manufacturing for nineteen years as well as The Brite Spot Pizza for nineteen years.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA; from 4-8 P.M. and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Peeler and Pastor Craig Manges officiating.

Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.
