Elizabeth "Bette" (Best) Snyder

Elizabeth “Bette” (Best) Snyder, 88, of Hopewell, PA; passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018.  She was born on February 27, 1930 in Yellow Creek, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late Carl and Julia (Heffner) Best.  

She is survived by her husband Junior; daughters Yvonne (Snyder) Abela and Vickie married to Kim Coon; grandchildren Lorie Kramer, Brian Abela and Jason Abela, along with their spouses.  In addition she is also survived by great grandchildren Zachary Kramer, Amber Abela and Trevor Abela.

Bette was preceded in death by a son Gregory Snyder and sons-in-law David Bowers and Carmel “Chuck” Abela; and was the last surviving member of her siblings Suzanne Pickell, William Best, Marion Best, Joseph Best, Richard Best, Dolly Reynolds, A’Dra Chance and James Best.

Bette enjoyed reading, doing crafts, watching Nascar and the Pittsburgh Steelers.   She was most known for her sewing skills and made most of her daughters clothing when they were growing up.  There was nothing too difficult for her to make.  She loved having company at her house and always had sweets and a cup of tea for her visitors.

Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton on Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 4-7 P.M.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 3, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Akers Funeral Chapel with son-in-law Kim Coon officiating.

The pallbearers are as follows Brian Abela, Jason Abela, Sam Steward, Kim Coon, Timothy Kramer and Zachary Kramer.

Burial will be held at Bedford Forge Cemetery.
