Dorothy J. (Blankley) Hennessey

Dorothy J. Hennessey, 90, of Saxton; passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  She was born on August 4, 1929 in Saxton, PA; a daughter of the late Conda E. and Elsie M. (Reed) Blankley.  On February 15, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD, she was united in marriage to Don Hennessey; he preceded her in death on March 7, 2001.

She is survived by children Larry A. Hennessey married to Shirley, Lake Wells, FL; Judy L. Rhodes and companion Jim, Saxton, PA; Jeffrey D. Hennessey married to Lori, Indiana, PA and M. Todd Hennessey married to Sally, Duncansville, PA; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by siblings Virginia Cooper, Paulene Davis, William Blankley and infant sister Grace.
Dorothy was a graduate of Saxton-Liberty High School Class of 1947 and a member of the Saxton First Church of God.
Mrs. Hennessey worked in the cafeteria for the Tussey Mountain School District until her retirement in 1991.
She enjoyed playing BINGO, reading, crocheting, shopping and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the chapel.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA 16678 with Pastor Jeff Musser officiating.
Burial will be held at Broad Top I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
