David L. Grimm, 68, of Hollars Extension, Everett, PA; passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on December 30, 1950; a son of George O. Grimm, Sr. and Charlotte (Stotler) Grimm. He was united in marriage to Sara E. (Colledge) Grimm.
Along with his wife he is survived by children David Grimm, Jr., April Rose fiancé of Bobby Blackstone, Tammy Darr fiancé of Eric Weist, David L. Grimm II, Becky Moreno fiancé of Chad Hockenberry, Malinda married to Ronald Grace, William Leberfinger, David Reaugh married to Tonya, Travis Reaugh married to Kayla, John Poper fiancé of Sammi Plummer; twenty-nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brother Charles “Buddy” Grimm and Jean Fetrow, Dover, PA, Charlotte “Pat” Grimm and Sandra Self, Everett, PA.
David was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Rosanne “Sissy” Grimm and brothers Bill and George Grimm.
He worked for Potomac Power Company and Reeds Pest Control.
He enjoyed camping, playing pool, riding four-wheelers, playing guitar, spending time with grandkids and great grandkids, riding motorcycle, singing in nursing homes for the elderly, hunting and his goat “Casper”.
David played in several bands including Hard Living, County Marlboro, Grimm Family, Country Traders, Peggy Lynn and the Raiders and Country Rain. He played in the Battle of the Bands on the John Riley show, winning first place and opened for the Kendall’s.
Friends and Family will be received at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Monday, September 23, 2019 from 5-8 P.M. and Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Mike Benner.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Jerry, John and Paul for sticking by David and playing guitar and especially for Jerry Woods for playing while Dave was unable.
