Carl Eugene Deremer, 81, of Phoenix Road, Breezewood, passed away on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at home.
He was born on May 22, 1937, in Breezewood, a son of the late Clarence Melvin and Mabel Olive (Brantner) Deremer.
He is survived by children, Timothy Deremer, married to Sandra, of Warfordsburg, and Carla Foor, of Everett; grandchildren: Travis Deremer, Kelly Ramsey, Amber Boor, Vanessa Calhoun and Scott Foor; two great-grandchildren; siblings, C. Melvin Deremer Jr., married to Sara, of Breezewood; Olive Calhoun, of Schellsburg; Mary Riddle of Everett; Thomas Deremer, married to Melinda, of Wells Tannery; Linda, married to Ralph Ennis, of Bedford; and very special friend, Marian Wertz, of McConnellsburg.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Andrew H., John H., and James F. Deremer.
Carl was employed at New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Snyder's Exxon, Breezewood, and lastly and currently at P&W Excavating Inc. in McConnellsburg, since 2002.
He was a social member of the Breezewood V.F.W. Post No. 8333. Carl was an avid stock car fan of the old Everett, Bedford and Jennerstown Speedways in his younger years. He was a Nascar racing fan, rooting for "The King," Richard Petty.
He enjoyed picking mushrooms and was known as a good marksman on running deer. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends of the V.F.W. and Cathy's Store in Crystal Spring. Carl will be sorely missed by all.
A memorial service will be held on December 2, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 with Pastor Bruce Maxwell officiating.
