Amanda (Watts) Boor Obituary

On November 12, 2018 Amanda Jean (Watts) Boor was taken too young to be with our Lord in Heaven.  Mrs. Boor is survived by her husband Spencer Boor, son of Richard and Rebecca Boor of James Creek, PA, her mother and father Cheryl and David Watts of New Bloomfield, PA, two sisters Melissa (Watts) Wright and her husband Roger Wright, of Elliottsburg, PA, and their children Gabby Wright, Mackenzie Wright, Madison Wright, Amy (Watts) Morris and her husband Michael Morris of Etters, PA, and their children Logan Morris, Owen Morris, Emma Morris; and also a nephew Colton Rhodes. Her beloved dogs Ozzy and Gracie Lou, and a kitten named Loki.

Mrs. Boor grew up in Marysville, PA and was born at Harrisburg Hospital.  She attended Susquenita High School.  She went on to become a very successful young woman.  She attained an Associates Degree from H.A.C.C. in real estate and Marketing Management.  She then went on to obtain a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Economics from Franklin University, and a Masters degree in American Government and Business Administration at Liberty University.

She also was currently enrolled in the Anne Anstine Excellence in Public Service program, which is a very prestigious course for women in Leadership that only a select few get accepted to.  The program requires a very high moral standard and a serious determination to make the world a better place.

Mrs. Boor was also the elected State Committee Representative for Huntingdon County as well as the elected committee person for Hopewell Township.  She worked at the Tuscarora Intermediate Unit 11 in McVeytown, PA, where she was responsible for the payroll and benefits administration of several hundred employees.

She was a highly respected and loved member of her community.  She worked tirelessly to help anyone in need and volunteered her time to many public officials including but not limited to Senator John Eichelberger, Senator-Elect Judy Ward, and also Campaign Manager for Representative Rich Irvin, these wonderful people were not only mentors to her but also some of her deepest friends.

When she had any spare time, she spent it loving up her animals and spending time with her husband.  She was an avid deer hunter and loved fishing and spending time outdoors.

Friends and Family will be received on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at 3:00 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA 16678 with Pastor Alfred Chamberlain officiating.

Burial will be held privately at Russellville Methodist Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers we kindly ask that people instead make donations in her name to the Huntingdon County Humane Society.  Seeing all those poor animals without loving homes would break her heart every time she looked at their websites.
