Richard "Rick" Barton

Richard “Rick” K. Barton, 63 of Breezewood, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at his residence with his family by his side. 

He was born on May 24, 1960 in McConnellsburg; a son of Leila Norman and Shannon Barton, Jr. 

He is survived by his wife Lois (Swope) of thirty-nine years; daughters Chelsea Glacken (wife of Jay), Clarissa Egolf (wife of Adam), and Shiane “Annie” Spade (wife of Austin); grandchildren Adeline Barton, Carter Barton, Hailey Egolf, and Maggie Egolf; two sisters and a brother. 

Rick loved spending his days working at PV Transport, being surrounded by livestock and good people he had met along the way. Rick loved taking his girls and grandkids to livestock shows throughout the state and at the county fair. He also enjoyed cutting firewood, going for walks, hunting, spending time with his family and his lifelong friend Randy Barrick. 

Friends and family will be received on Monday, March 25, 2024 from 4-6 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Rick’s life will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024

at 6:00 P.M. with Rev. Johnathan Wyns and Rev. Tracey Wyns officiating.

Burial will be held privately by the family.
