Darrin Todd Coulter, 57, of Freedom, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Wexford Hospital. He was born on November 1, 1966 in Cumberland Maryland Memorial Hospital. He is the son of Sandy P. (Pointer) Smakula of Bedford and the late Clarence M. “Bud” Coulter.
He is survived by daughter Samantha (Ryan Bracken) and a brother Matthew A. Elliott married to Leighann, Chambersburg, PA; a nephew Eli; special Aunt Carol Ann Gordon and a very special friend Ruth Neiser.
Darrin was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Norvil T. Pointer and Hazel “Grandma” Fair, Uncle Ron Gordon and an infant daughter Casey Renee Coulter.
He graduated from Bedford High School Class of 1984. Darrin attended Robert Morris University majoring in Computer Science. He had a vast knowledge and understanding of electronics and technology. He could fix almost anything and had an appreciation for photography. He loved socializing and karaoke with his friends, driving in his car, and Door Dashing. Social media thoroughly entertained him, and he spent hours posting funny pictures for a reaction on Facebook and reading his friends posts. He especially liked to see who was the first to like his pictures and he read all the comments. Darrin was currently working at the United States Postal Service in Pittsburgh. He enjoyed living in Cumberland Valley at the farm, mowing the grass and bike riding with his friends. He only left to get a better job and be in a bigger city.
Friends and Family will be received on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 10 A.M. - 12 Noon at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Miller officiating.
Burial will be held at Mt. Union Cemetery.
