Thelma Mae Dunkle, 91, of Hollars Extension, Everett, PA; passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Pennknoll Village, Everett, PA. She was born on January 23, 1927 in Everett, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late Harvey and Grace E. (White) Cogan. On July 25, 1950 in Winchester, VA; she was united in marriage to Fred Dunkle. He preceded her in death on August 12, 1993.
She is survived by daughter Beverly A. Hinish, Breezewood, PA; grandsons Kenneth Hinish Jr. married to Selena (Guy), Everett; Kevin Hinish, Breezewood and Keith Hinish married to Jenna (Valentine), Breezewood; great grandchildren Kyle, Kevin Jr., Kayla, Marissa, Trinity, Samantha, Keyan and Kenton.
She was preceded in death by siblings Annie Jay, William Cogan, Lloyd Cogan and Charles Cogan; son-in-law Kenneth Hinish and infant son Randy Eugene Dunkle.
She attended Bethel Church of the Brethren and also Mt. Chapel Church, Breezewood.
Thelma worked as a waitress for most all of her working years, working at Cheerios, Sailors Restaurant and at the Travelers Rest for twenty-eight years until her retirement.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, shopping and reading her newspaper.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett with Pastor Ronald Hott and Pastor H. Lee Ritchey officiating.
Family and Friends may call at Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 5-8 P.M. and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at Clearville Union Cemetery.
