Rev. Stephen B. Oberman, 60, of Saxton went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  He was born on July 9, 1957 in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania; a son of Donna (Starr) Oberman of Saxton, PA and the late Thomas Franklin “Blair” Oberman.  On October 18, 1986 in Rapid City, SD; he was united to his wife Victoria E. (Twedt) Oberman.  Along with his wife of thirty-one years, he is survived by daughters Jessica married to Jason Stauffer and Rachael Oberman; siblings Gary Oberman married to Tina, Saxton, PA; Kathy married to John Dively, New Enterprise, PA; Cindy Hinkle, Saxton, PA and Donna Marie Oberman, Saxton, PA; and numerous aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews.

Steve was a 1975 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School and he served in the United States Air Force from 1980-1985 being discharged as a staff sergeant E-5.  After his military service he served as a Law Enforcement Officer for the Rapid City Police Department for seventeen years until his retirement in 2002.  Upon his retirement he took on the role of Pastor of the Broad Top and Saxton First Churches of God from 2003 to current.

He earned a bachelor’s of science in business management from American University, Rapid City, SD and Masters of Science degree from Trinity School of Bible and Seminary.

Steve enjoyed spending time with his family, storytelling, traveling, art and visiting with people.  He enjoyed his daily devotions and reading his bible.  He loved life and lived for adventure.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Tussey Mountain High School Auditorium with Pastor Jeff Musser officiating.

Broad Top Area Honor Guard will conduct military honors.

Friends and Family may call at the Tussey Mountain High School Auditorium on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the school.

Burial will be held privately at Fockler Cemetery.

If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of Pastor Oberman to the Saxton First Church of God or the Broad Top Church of God, 1018 6th Street, Saxton, PA 16678.
