Robert D. Smith, Sr., 75 of Jade Circle, Martinsburg, Pennsylvania; passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 at his residence. He was born on November 23, 1941 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania; a son of the late J. H. and Margaret (Mitchell) Smith. On January 4, 1964 at St. Marks Catholic Church; he was united in marriage to Patricia A. (DelBiondo) Smith. He is survived by his wife of fifty three years and children Robert D. Smith Jr., married to Kim, Poolesville, MD; Stephanie married to Ralph Helms, Hagerstown, MD; Debbie Nillas, Westfield, NJ; grandchildren Ericka, Johnny, Aaron, Maya, Tre and Ava; siblings Thelma Lankford, Ebensburg, PA, Pat Cox, Harrisonburg, PA and Betty Kay Folley, Hagerstown, MD.
He was preceded in death by siblings James Smith and Hazel Kotch.
Robert graduated from CUC receiving his bachelors of Business Administration.
Mr. Smith was a member of the Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Newry, PA.
Bob was employed for Brunswick County Health Department as Budget Director until his retirement in 2009.
He served Treasurer of Homewood Auxiliary and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, target shooting and storytelling.
Friends and Family will be received on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 704 Patrick Lane, Newry, PA 16665 with Father Allen P. Zeth.
