Paul Clair Abbott

April 25, 1946 ~ March 17, 2017 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Paul Clair Abbott, 70, of Saxton, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 16, 2017.  He was born on April 25, 1946 in Saxton, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Paul and Thelma (Mierley) Abbott.  He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Deborah (Thomas) Abbott.  They were united in marriage on February 24, 1973 at the Round Knob Church of God.  He is also survived by daughter Roxanna (Abbott) married to Raymond Cianci and loving granddaughter Kayla Christine Cianci, Huntingdon, PA; son Christopher Paul Abbott, Saxton, PA and loving granddaughter Abigail Paige Abbott –Watkins, Broad Top, PA.

Other surviving family members are Gwennie and Abram Diehl, Savannah Matthews, Nelda (Meck) and Don Deffinbaugh, Earl "Bud" and Loraine Thomas, Elouise (Moore) and Tom Woodrow, Thomas T. And Janet Thomas, Helen and John Elder, Judy Snavely, James and Betty Thomas, David and Joy Thomas; numerous loving nieces, nephews and his dog Daisy he called his “baby girl”.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother in-law Earl and Roxie Thomas, brothers-in-law Richard Moore, Lorenzo "Renny" Meck, Richard Matthews and Elmer “Leonard” Snavely.

Paul was a 1964 graduate of the Tussey Mountain High School and he served six years in the United Stated Navy.

His career consisted of a carpenter at Three Mile Island, a union carpenter for Local#214 for seventeen years at Army Corp of Engineers and a self-employed carpenter for over twenty years operating Abbott Construction. 

Paul enjoyed spending time with his family immensely. He always said his grandchildren are more precious than gold. He loved helping other people, picking black raspberies and hunting morel mushrooms.

At the request of Paul there will be a Celebration of Life Service held at the Beavertown Bible Church, 17758 New Fording Road, Todd, PA 16685 on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with his brother-in-law Pastor James Thomas officiating . 

Family and Friends are invited to share memories and condolences with the family from 10:00A.M. until the hour of service.
