John O. Sparks

John O. Sparks, 71, of Hollidaysburg formerly of Clearville, PA; passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at UPMC Altoona Hospital with his son by his side. He was born on January 30, 1947 in Everett, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Orbusson Sparks and Emma Mae (Good) Sparks.  He is survived by son Richard J. Orndorff married to Heather, Shippensburg, PA; sister Ida Mae Perrin, Everett, PA; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by sisters Donna Lee Beegle, Mary Emma Gochnour and a brother-in-law Robert Perrin.

John was a graduate of Northern Bedford County High School Class of 1966.  After graduation he served in the United States Army, serving from 1971 to 1977 serving in the Vietnam War.  Throughout the years he drove truck for various companies.

Mr. Sparks was a member of the Everett Seventh Day Adventist Church and enjoyed reading and fishing. 

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Snyder officiating.

Friends may call at Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett, Pa 15537, from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Burial will be held privately at Bethel Cemetery.
