Arlene Bolinger went home to her Heavenly Father on July 17, 2017. Recently, she celebrated her 100th birthday with extended family. She was born on March 30, 1917 to the late Rachel (nee Lane) and Matthew Buckley in North Point, PA. Arlene was one of seven children who grew up in North Point and Six Mile Run, PA.
On December 26, 1936 Arlene married the love of her life, Grover S. Bolinger. They had one daughter, Cheryl. Arlene was a homemaker and a beautician. Grover and Arlene were married 46 years at the time of his passing on September 1, 1983.
The First Church of God, Six Mile Run was home to Arlene for many years where she was a lifetime member and taught Sunday School. Arlene was a woman of great faith.
Arlene moved to Germantown, TN in 2004 to live with her daughter and son-in-law and to be close to her extended family.
Arlene is survived by her daughter Cheryl Larson of Germantown, TN; her grandchildren Lori (Richard) Whitstone of Waukesha, WI; Keith Drenning of Olive Branch, MS ; Robin (Timothy) Andringa of Waukesha, WI; Kevin Drenning of Germantown, TN and Lisa (Mark) Welch of Eads, TN. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Grover (1983), her grandson Todd Drenning (1982), her son-in-law David Larson (2013) and her siblings: Robert Buckley, Thomas Buckley, Loretta Dively, Margaret Buckley, Phyllis Hoover and Vivian Neville.
Arlene’s family and friends will celebrate her life with a visitation on Tuesday July 25, 2017 at 10 am followed by a service at 11 am at Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA with Pastor Richard Bair officiating.
There will be a graveside service at Duvall Cemetery followed by a gathering at the Six Mile Run Church of God, 1281 Main Street, Six Mile Run, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Arlene to the First Church of God, 1281 Main Street, Six Mile Run, PA 16679.
