Obituary for Elizabeth Grove

Elizabeth “Betty” Grove, 85, of Summit Street, Everett, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 14, 1925 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina; a daughter of the late Joe and Hattie Palmer. On July 11, 1953 in Elizabeth City, NC she married H. Joe Grove. He survives her along with the following family:

Son-in-law: Truman Sauer, Russellville, MO

Three Grandchildren
Four Great Grandchildren
Many Nieces and Nephews

She was preceded in death by a daughter: Gloria Jean Tyler Sauer and four brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Grove was a member of the Everett United Methodist Church.

She was employed for over twenty years as Office Administrator at the First Colonial Road Family Medical Practice in Virginia Beach, Virginia until her retirement in 1985.

She served as volunteer at the U.P.M.C. Bedford Memorial Hospital for twenty-six years. She was a member of the Ladies Shrine in Norfolk Valley, Virginia.

Mrs. Grove enjoyed quilting, knitting, needlepoint, counted cross-stitch and her dog “Korkie”

Friends may call at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 2 - 4:00 P.M. and 6 – 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Everett with Pastor Robert Strozyk officiating.
Burial will be held in Everett Cemetery.
